Inspiration and design of the Damascus Folding Knife - Ebony Burl

Created in 2022, the Hack N Slash has become a workshop classic. This folding model draws on the lines of the traditional Thiers pocket knife while asserting a modern, taut style.
In this Damascus Folding Knife - Ebony Burl version, the selected materials reinforce its identity: a rare, responsibly sourced wood from Burkina Faso and a blade with a layered pattern.

The broken spine follows the palm naturally, while balanced proportions provide an easy, instinctive grip.

Mechanism

• The slipjoint system provides blade retention in both the open and closed positions. Retention is supplied by the spring and a lug that engages the blade, providing safer use.
• The fixed stop protects the cutting edge when the knife closes.

Damascus-steel blade

• Made from 2.5 mm-thick VG10 layered steel, a Japanese stainless steel specifically developed for cutlery. This material provides a razor-sharp edge and is easy to sharpen.
• The flat grind provides excellent versatility for different cutting tasks.

Ebony-burl handle

• Ebony burl is a growth from this famous African tree, showing attractive knots and a chocolate tone at its heart.
• The scales are fitted over a black fibreglass spacer with stainless-steel screws, providing strength and durability.
