“Vive la France” Collection

Inspiration and design

The Folding Knife - “Vive la France” Collection uses Atelier Legoff’s handcrafted “Hack N Slash” model. Created in 2022 by our cutler, it quickly established itself as the emblematic model of our collection. Reinterpreting the tradition of the French pocket knife in a contemporary style, it features angular lines and a broken spine that follows the palm naturally.

Mechanism

• The slipjoint system provides blade retention in both the open and closed positions. Retention is supplied by the spring and a lug that engages the blade, providing safer use.
• The fixed stop protects the cutting edge when the knife closes.

Stainless-steel blade

• Made from 2.5 mm-thick 14C28N, a Swedish stainless steel specifically developed for cutting tools. This material provides a razor-sharp edge and is easy to sharpen.
• The flat grind provides excellent versatility for different cutting tasks.
• The stamped nail nick on the blade helps open the knife.

Synthetic-ivory handle

• Elforyn is a durable composite material based on minerals and resin. It is designed to reproduce the Schreger lines characteristic of elephant ivory, now protected.
• The scales are fitted over a black fibreglass spacer with stainless-steel screws, providing strength and durability.
• Our craftsman shapes each Folding Knife - “Vive la France” Collection handle by hand in our workshop in Thiers.

Appearance and details

• Bolsters finish the front of the knife and house the padded pivot pin, adding protection and strength.
• The blade and spring receive a satin finish for a refined appearance.
• The bolsters and liners are bead blasted to play with the texture of the other components.
• The buffed, glossy handle adds a more polished touch.
• The inside of the spring is polished, reinforcing the knife’s refined finish.
• Recessed liners improve the smoothness of the mechanism.
• The inner edges of the liners are softened for a pleasant feel.
• A blue-white-red trim joins the handle and bolster.
• The spring is fileworked, a fine decoration made with a file.
• Our craftsman engraves his logo on the blade to sign his work.

• Our craftsman makes your new knife to order, with a delivery time of up to 3 weeks.
